AddReal started working with Sony Vaio in 2004. Working as a team and using our social media and word of mouth marketing expertise, we were able to create loyalty among laptop users as well as attract new customers.

Overview

Our client needed to improve interaction with the current and potential customer base of their product line. The company realized there is an increasing need for online technical and product support as customers continued to use online communities for their product related requests.

Objectives

The primary goal was to increase our market knowledge and analyze users, to address questions and opinions they had raised via online communities, message boards and discussion groups.

Solution

We leveraged our knowledge of social media, online communities and word of mouth marketing to best meet Sony’s requirements. Our team became experts on their product line and learned how to answer technical and product related questions. We created a representative voice and personality with which to communicate to the online audience. Using our proprietary database, we identified the most relevant and active discussion groups with which to interact. We closely monitored these online communities for questions and comments about the products. After choosing the best opportunities for audience interaction, we began submitting responses as Vaio representatives that were designed to provide timely and valuable information in a supportive way. Simultaneously, our team has leveraged discussions comparing Vaio with other competitors in order to point readers to glowing third-party reviews of the products. We continue to use our expertise to locate new communities, bring technical support information and solutions to existing Vaio owners and drive new customers to the websites.

Results

- Feedback on the campaign has been extremely positive. Current Vaio owners often thank Sony for reaching out to them with answers and taking an interest in their communities.

- Awareness and approach with the market has been increased as we monitor situations and events. Our proactive customer engagement won Vaio the trust and loyalty of their customers and built interest with potential new customers.

- Our campaign also uncovered a great deal of valuable customer feedback for Vaio to use in future product development.
